Updated as of 13 Jan 2021:
From Thursday 14 Jan, all traffic leaving via the Smidmore Street carpark exit will not be able to make a left turn. Instead, traffic diversions will be in place to ensure you are able to exit safely.
We appreciate your patience and can happily reassure that we are working towards improving the general streetscape to create a location our community can be proud of. This is a situation we are monitoring closely and would love to hear any feedback you have via email: Marrickville.Metro@ampcapital.com or phone: (02) 9519 1066.
Updated as of 22 October 2020:
The construction work to improve the streetscape of Smidmore Street has commenced as of Tuesday 23rd June. Smidmore Street will turn into a one-way street, approaching via Edinburgh Road and exiting onto Murray Street. A detour will be in place to assist customers and the community. Works have also commenced on Murray Street. We are providing Traffic Management and will be monitoring this space closely. There will be no parking or car entrance onto Smidmore Street via Murray Street.
Bus / Taxi Relocations
A reminder that buses (308, 352, 355) are now available further down Smidmore Street (towards Edgeware Road) and Taxis are situated on Victoria Road (opposite side of the centre to Smidmore Street.
For our elderly customers and those in the community with a disability, we are conscious the trolley wheel locking points don’t extend as far as the bus stops and taxi rank so we are offering these members of the community a complimentary wheelie shopping bag. We ask customers to simply show their valid concession card at Centre Management, located on Victoria Road, to receive their Marrickville Metro shopping bag.
