We wish to advise our community that Aldi has applied for a packaged liquor licence in order to gain permission to sell sealed liquor products including wine, beer and spirits for consumption away from the licensed premises.
The liquor sales area will occupy about 45 sqm of the ALDI supermarket and will be clearly separated from the Supermarket area.
The types of liquor that will be sold are ALDI branded beers, wines and spirits and on occasion some 'special' non ALDI branded products. There will be approximately 100 types of liquor which is generally a lot less than your typical liquor store.
The hours proposed to trade are Monday to Saturday 8.30am-9.00pm and Sunday 10.00am to 9.00pm.
*Please note that the liquor sales area will only trade when the Supermarket is trading.
All staff involved with liquor sales and supply will have completed a responsible service of alcohol course.
Relevant measures will be taken to ensure minors do not have access to liquor along with heavy CCTV surveillance in the licensed area.
As per the L&GNSW regulation, community members are now able provide feedback or seek additional information from Aldi regarding this application. The feedback will be used to create a Community Impact Statement (CIS) and published on the L&GNSW electronic noticeboard at liquorgaming.nsw.gov.au.
