School Holiday Boredom Busters to do with the kids

The dreaded "I'm bored" can make any parent lose their cool, but not with these fun boredom busters we have for you!

Camp in the backyard
There's no better way to get the kids out of the house than having your own camping night in the backyard! Get yourself tents, a bag of marshmallows, torches, sleeping bags and more and go all out for the full experience. If they're feeling restless around the house, this is a great way to lift their spirits and get them outside!

Do a puzzle
Puzzles became the most popular activity during lockdown and it's not going out of fashion! Get the kids a puzzle with a theme they'll love, and you might just have silent kids for hours! Maybe you have a son that loves Marvel, or a daughter that loves Frozen. Whatever it is, there's bound to be a puzzle to suit their interests. It's also a great way to keep their brain active and learning.

Draw with chalk on concrete
Chalk on concrete can never get old. You probably remember doing it when you were a kid! Get the kids some chalk and get them to draw fun things on the driveway. Give them tasks to do for each drawing or see who can draw the fastest. The best part is you only need water to clean it up!

Make playdough
Playdough is so fun for kids, and us adults too! But instead of buying it, you can always make it from scratch and get the kids involved. You don't need a tonne of ingredients either. Get yourself some flour, salt, cream of tartar, vegetable oil and food colouring. Mix al the ingredients together and stir over heat until the dough is flexible. Here, you want to let it cool in a resealable bag or container, and then you can use it!

Paint a self-portrait
Painting is such a wonderful activity and can really get the kids to use their creative side. Get them to paint a self-portrait, paint a picture of the dog, paint their best friend from school, or paint the whole family! There's so many fun things you can do and it will keep them occupied for a while. This is also a great way for them to learn about colours.
